Edcamp is a form of unconference designed to meet the needs of teachers.
What makes edcamp a unique experience?
Edcamp is different from a conference because the participants create the agenda at the beginning of the event. Everyone is encouraged to participate in group-discussions, and engage in hands-on sessions. This unconference is built on the principles of connected and participatory learning, bringing educators from all walks of life together to talk about the things that matter the most to them: their interests, passions, and questions drive this unique experience.
Edcamps are:
- Absolutely free - Non-commercial and conducted with a vendor free presence - Hosted by any organization that is interested in furthering the edcamp mission - Made of sessions by the participants on the day of the event - Everyone who attends can be a presenter - Based on the "law of two feet" that encourages all participants to find and go to sessions that meet their needs
